Remove every accessory from the diagnosis
Disconnect wired headphones, adapters, docks and Bluetooth audio devices. Open Control Center and check the active playback destination rather than relying only on an icon. Place headphones away from the phone so they do not reconnect automatically during testing.
Do not repeatedly insert a plug to make the mode disappear. If the connector is wet, each insertion can move liquid across contacts.
Protect the connector first
Unplug charging cables, remove the case and wipe the exterior. Hold the connector downward and leave the phone in a dry area with airflow. Avoid heat, compressed air, rice and objects in the port.

When the exterior and connector are dry, inspect the opening in bright light without inserting anything. Visible corrosion, residue or damaged contacts are service concerns. Do not use swabs, pins or sprays to “clean” the detection state.
Continue to follow any liquid alert and the applicable waiting time before wired charging. Clear speaker audio is not permission to use a questionable port.
Escalate a persistent false route
Seek service if headphone mode remains after drying, accessory removal and one stable restart, particularly if charging is unreliable or liquid alerts recur. Also escalate for heat, shutdowns, display changes or camera fogging.
Explain which accessory was connected during the exposure and whether Bluetooth routing works. That history helps separate an operating-system route from physical connector detection.
