Separate the speaker from the connector
The bottom loudspeaker grille and charging connector sit near each other, but they are different cavities with different tests. A speaker can remain muffled while the port is dry, or sound can return while moisture remains around connector contacts.
Do not use one symptom as proof about the other. Record the exposure and treat both openings according to their own evidence.
Disconnect and dry before making a decision

Seek service for a connector alert that keeps returning after a full drying period, unreliable charging, visible residue or damaged contacts. Heat, shutdowns, display changes, camera fogging, no sound and severe distortion also exceed a simple wet-speaker scenario.
The safest rule is straightforward: speaker improvement and charging readiness are two separate outcomes, and neither should be inferred from the other.
