Separate the speaker from the connector

The bottom loudspeaker grille and charging connector sit near each other, but they are different cavities with different tests. A speaker can remain muffled while the port is dry, or sound can return while moisture remains around connector contacts.

Do not use one symptom as proof about the other. Record the exposure and treat both openings according to their own evidence.

Disconnect and dry before making a decision
